There's no reason to farm runes anyway - for gold? Why? You already have the best stuff.

The rune farming situation won't really change, because people will keep farming to unlock runes. (I continue to do that)
And that just means the market of un-IDed rune will expand and people will spend more money to buy that instead.

If you actually pay attention to the WoW messages...during Prime Time it is usually an American guild who wins the HoH. If you want to win then just get better.

Actually the trader was selling several superior runes i have never unlocked. It will only be for sale if someone sells it to the trader i believe.

The merchant prices, while initially seeded and stocked, depend on supply and demand. The prices will be a little screwy to start off with, but you should be seeing the true market value of runes there. And because the merchant skims off a tidy profit for himself, there's always room for the independant trader to make some money by undercutting the trader. Of course, it will make it harder for people to scam inexperienced players, becuase they've now got a benchmark for rune prices to compare against.

I've been PvPing for over an hour a day for more than 9 months now. Still hasn't lost any of its appeal to me *shrugs*

Well... I can understand... I mean, 50gp for a minor... that's just sad.
Should have been a minimum price on the trader.
Seems to continue Arena Net's tendency to harm those in a single day without warning. Now my whole bag of minor runes is worth a whole lot less.
Though I can't really complain, since I'm more of a buyer than a seller anyways.

Don't sell to merchants; sell for 10 gp less than the trader.
I personally love this update; it really keeps people from ripping off the noobs with this stuff anymore. I saw a major vigor go for 15k yesterday.
That's the kind of shit they're cutting down upon.

I hope they fix this rune seller update... theres numerous amounts of people lined up at the rune seller. Last time I checked, I was in Drokanrs Forge, and the rune seller was selling a Major Absorbtion for 19k, and a Major Vigor for 15K. I really think the rune seller addition will ruin the economy and is just going to make GW head downhill and I hope it gets removed.

PvP.
I honestly don't care if I have a sword of ultimate destruction or a pointed stick, as long as my opponent has the same thing.
Edit: Witchblade - n00bs? How long have you held HoH? You're probably just a n00b with a lot of spare time, but still a n00b. Do you seriously think grinding proves anything?

This game was always about inter-guild PvP and never about farming.
There is a Dye Trader and the market for Dye selling has not fallen through...black dyes are still very much sought after even though you can buy them from a trader anytime you want.
If they added a weapon/equipment trader, I wouldn't mind either, just so long as the trader would only sell what people sold to them.
The problem with this farming is that it adds a limitless supply of gold into the economy making it worthless. There would come a stage where superior runes would sell for 120K simply because farmers flooded the game with liquidity.
All I really care about is getting the best equipment and skills for my characters as I can and then work on a strong build for PvP.

Im a casual player. the most money Ive had at one time was like 6000 and change and I felt like I was rich. my main character is almost 17th lvl and I havent seen a rune yet. I tried to buy one and the price was over 10000. I dont have a lot of time to play so I really cant do alot of farming. what yall that dont like this patch are saying is that players like me dont deserve to be able to compeat with all the grinders out there. well this game was marketed that you didnt need to play for 10 hours a day to enjoy and be good at it. thats why I never got into the othe other MMOs, in those ones you have to put in more hours than a ful time job to even come close to being powerful.
others might not like it, but I cant wait to get on later tonight for maybe an hour or 2 and maybe get to have fun and improve my character at the same time and not have to worry about not having 20000 gold. if this drives you away cause you cant get rich by overcharging us casual players then your not playing the right game anyways. I dont want to piss anyone off but thats life.

I seriously hope everyone threatening to quit because of this does. The game doesn't need any more people selling runes that give 50-60 HP for 80+ plat.

If you still want to be a rune seller, just sell un-ided ones. You can tell what class and type it is, and I'd bet people would gladly play to unlock runes on their account.

Really? That's truly sad. One hopes this patch fixes things like that. People shouldn't need or want a mule character, much less multiple mules. There needs to be effective ways to buy, sell, or trade stuff so that people can keep their inventories relatively clear. Traders like the dye trader, the materials trader, and now the runes trader serve that function. Hopefully someday the sigil trader will become useful, too. I'd rather be able to just dump all the runes I don't want somewhere immediately rather than have to pack them all away somewhere awaiting the perfect buyer. I haven't been in the game since the patch, but I'm looking forward to unloading all that crud I don't need, but didn't want to just toss because I know there are people out there that could use it. I have a half dozen runes I had no real use for, now I can sell them to someone who will find someone who wants to buy them, rather than just tossing them in the bit bucket like merchants do.

Exactly! I'm willing to bet people would actually pay slightly more for an un-ided rune that they need to unlock then for any plain id'ed rune. This doesnt hurt you as much as you think it does.

I really don't understand why people are mad when they reduce the amount of grind in the game. Now, people can focus more of their time on PvP or mission/quest/exploring PvE, rather than farming PvE.
